Natixis has appointed Robin Samee as chief operating officer, Asia-Pacific, and member of the APAC Executive Committee and the Operations and Information Systems Global Executive Committee. Based in Hong Kong, Samee reports to Alain Gallois, Chief Executive Officer, Asia-Pacific, and to Veronique Sani, global chief operating officer.
Samee succeeds William Hendriks in the role, who moved to Paris as global head of corporate and investment banking operations.
As COO for Asia-Pacific, Samee is responsible for operations, information technology, corporate real estate and services, client support group and legal. In this role, he leads the transformation of the operating model, as Natixis strives towards a higher level of digitalization – one of the key pillars of its New Dimension Plan.
As an Operations and Information Systems Global Executive Committee member, Samee has a responsibility to contribute to the definition and implementation of the global strategy, on operations, technology and corporate real estate.
Samee has over 20 years’ experience, having served in various senior management positions with Société Générale in Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Korea, London and Paris. During that time, he successively held the roles of COO/head of operations in Korea, head of the Operations Regional Hub for FICC activities in Singapore, and head of operations for Asia-Pacific based in Hong Kong, before becoming the Deputy CEO, head of corporate functions and transformation at Société Générale Global Solutions Center in India.
More recently, Samee was the chief operations officer for the Insurance shared services center of Allianz Group in Mauritius, in charge of front-to-back delivery for French retail and corporate clients.
