Franklin Templeton appoints new head of WFOE for China
Jin Mei will be responsible for expanding the firm's presence and developing business opportunities in China, will be based in Shanghai

Franklin Templeton has appointed Jin Mei as the head of its WFOE (Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise) for China, the firm announced on March 26. Based in Franklin Templeton’s WFOE office in Shanghai, Mei will be responsible for expanding the firm’s presence and developing opportunities for business growth in mainland China.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Mei was most recently employed as China Chief Representative at Natixis Investment Managers. Mei brings over 14 years of financial services industry experience to his new role, including a decade at Bloomberg in both New York and Beijing where he worked as head of Buy-Side sales for Greater China. He holds a BS in Business Administration with Finance Concentration from Berea College.

David Chang, Chief Executive Officer and Regional Head for Greater China at Franklin Templeton, said, “China is an important growth market for Franklin Templeton, and I am confident Jin will add strength to our business and ensure Franklin Templeton delivers the high level of service needed to support growth for our clients.”

In addition to its investment management WFOE in Shanghai, Franklin Templeton also has a representative office in Beijing, as well as joint ventures Franklin Templeton Seal and Fund Management Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, and China Life Franklin Asset Management Co., Limited in Hong Kong.
