Citi Private Bank has appointed Jørgen Weber Christensen as global market manager for the Philippines, effective immediately.
In this new role, Singapore-based Christensen reports to Jyrki Rauhio, Citi Private Bank's South Asia head.
Prior to his latest appointment, he was a team head in Citi Private Bank's coverage team for the Philippines. With over 30 years of experience in banking and finance, including 15 covering the Philippines, Christensen brings with him vast and in-depth knowledge of the local market along with an extensive network.
Commenting on the appointment, Rauhio says, "The Philippines is a crucial growth market for Citi Private Bank's South Asia business and we are delighted to have Jørgen lead our efforts in this market. With his proven track record and wealth of experience, I am confident Jørgen will successfully drive the development of our business in the Philippines as we continue to expand our presence in strategic markets."
Citi Private Bank's South Asia business covers markets including Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, India and the Philippines. The majority of bankers serving clients in this region are based out of Singapore.
Christensen's recent appointment is the latest in a series of appointments following an expanded organizational and global market manager structure which was announced in December 2017.
