HSBC Global Research boosts team with 15 hires in Mainland China
Research team expansion follows launch of HSBC Qianhai Securities
The Asset 8 Dec 2017

HSBC Global Research has expanded its Asian research offering following the launch of HSBC Qianhai Securities, the first Chinese securities joint venture to be majority-owned by a foreign bank.

A new team of equity research analysts based in Shenzhen will work closely with Asian and global colleagues to deliver a co-ordinated research view across sectors including IT hardware, software, healthcare, internet, media, consumer staples and autos.

The 15-person research team includes Frank He for IT hardware, Guo Yi for media & internet, Nora Min for autos & components, Katharine Song for consumer staples, Zhang Bing for IT software and Zhao Zhijie for healthcare.

Led by Steven Sun, HSBC’s former head of Hong Kong / China equity research and head of equity strategy for China, the new team will provide substantial coverage of China’s domestic A-shares. Reflecting our long-term commitment to A-share research, HSBC Qianhai will continue to add to this team, which is expected to reach 50 people over the medium-term.
