International law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has hired Anthony Vasey as a private capital (PC) partner in Hong Kong.

Vasey has over 20 years’ experience advising private equity firms, funds and companies on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private credit and debt, and restructuring and insolvency.

He began his legal career with Slaughter and May in London and Hong Kong before joining White & Case in 2010, where he was promoted to partner in 2012 in Hong Kong. In 2021, he moved to global CEO advisory firm Teneo, as COO of its financial advisory practice in Asia-Pacific. He is qualified to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.

“Vasey adds the experience, network and skills to our growing team that Hong Kong’s private capital clients demand,” says Andy Blacoe, the firm’s head of corporate for Asia. “The city is a hub for funds investing across the region, and his reputation as a senior adviser is an important investment in our services to those clients.”
