Eastspring Investments, Prudential’s asset management business, has appointed Faizal Gaffoor as deputy regional chief executive officer and head of products and partnerships in Asia.
Gaffoor joined Eastspring last December 2022. Based in Singapore, he reports to Wendy Lim, regional CEO for Asia and global head of distribution, marketing and products.
Gaffoor will be responsible for the growth of the Eastspring franchise in Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, and for the delivery of regional product strategies for retail and institutional businesses. He will also oversee the firm’s business relationship management with Prudential Life entities, and grow its ILP (investment-linked insurance policy) and non-ILP businesses.
With over 25 years’ experience in asset management, Gaffoor was most recently managing director and group chief marketing officer for UOB Asset Management (UOBAM), where he drove AUM (assets under management) growth and market share through strategic business and product development initiatives. Prior to this, he was with Citibank’s regional investment products and distribution team.
Gaffoor holds a degree in mathematics and economics from the National University of Singapore.
