ETF spotlight shines on Taipei
The Asset Events proudly kicks off its 3rd ETF Asia Summit in Taipei today, looking to explore key developments in the industry.
Tien-Mu Huang, vice chairman of the Financial Supervisory Commission, will be this year’s keynote speaker. He will be joined by industry professionals sharing their views about the ETF landscape in Asia.
The summit will cover a wide range of topics, including smart beta ETFs, the impact of robo-advisory, and institutional investors’ use of ETFs.
There is no question that the ETF industry in Asia is going through an exciting transformation. From being mainly driven by regulators, stock exchanges and providers, the industry now sees significant demand from pension funds, insurance companies and banks. In Japan, the world’s largest pension fund, the Government Pension Investment Fund, is now an active investor in ETFs. Growing from strength to strength, the ETF market recently crossed the US$4 trillion mark globally, representing strong demand for innovative passive investing solutions.
With a summit theme of ETF 2.0: Process, portfolio, platform, The Asset aims to drive the conversation, asking what impact ETFs can have for investors, and what the growth of ETFs means for the asset management industry.
