Asia-based Eastspring Investments, the US$239 billion asset management business of Prudential, has appointed Dominic Wong as its regional head of intermediary sales, a role in which he, based in Hong Kong, will be responsible for leading and growing the firm’s intermediary business and report to Salman Haider, the firm’s chief distribution officer.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the asset management industry in Asia, Wong has successfully led regional distribution for some of the largest international investment firms. He was most recently the head of intermediary distribution, Asia ex-Japan, at BNY Mellon Investment Management, where he oversaw the firm’s intermediary business across Greater China and Southeast Asia.
Prior to that, he was head of Northeast Asia intermediary business at Fidelity International, a role he held for more than a decade. Wong has also served as the head of retail sales in Hong Kong for BlackRock.
“Accelerating the growth of our intermediary business is a key priority for us,” Haider says. “Wong’s extensive experience and deep relationships with intermediaries and wealth managers will be critical as we drive our efforts across our distribution teams to position the firm as the solutions partner of choice for the intermediary channels in Asia.”
