StanChart strengthens transaction banking team
Sofia Hammoucha, Ankur Kanwar and Marion Reuter take on key roles in building capabilities and deepening client relationships

Standard Chartered has appointed Sofia Hammoucha as global head of trade and working capital based in Singapore. She succeeds Kai Fehr, who has decided to move back to his home country, Germany, to spend more time with his family.

The bank also appointed Ankur Kanwar as head of transaction banking for Singapore and Asean, based in Singapore, and Marion Reuter as head of transaction banking, Europe, and head of transaction banking, Standard Chartered Bank, based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Kanwar takes over the leadership of the transaction banking team in Singapore from Maisie Chong, who will continue in her role as global head of receivables purchase and head of trade and working capital for Asean and South Asia. Reuter succeeds Karin Flinspach, who has decided to leave the bank.

Hammoucha joined Standard Chartered in 2022 as head of risk for transaction banking. Before joining the bank, Sofia spent 22 years at BNP Paribas holding several roles spanning risk management, internal audit, business development, strategy, leadership and change management in Europe and Asia-Pacific. In her last role with BNP Paribas, she was head of transaction banking for Asean.

In addition to his latest appointment, Kanwar will continue in his existing roles as global head of cash structured solutions development and head of cash management for Singapore and Asean. Since joining Standard Chartered in 2015, Kanwar has been instrumental in launching several innovative digital solutions and worked extensively with the bank’s clients to streamline their cash and treasury management operations.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Ankur worked with JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank. He has been in the industry for more than 20 years holding several roles in transaction banking, treasury and finance across Asia and the United States.

In addition to her latest appointment, Reuter will continue in her role as head of transaction banking corporate sales in Europe based in Frankfurt. She has more than 20 years of experience in transaction banking and has held several senior transaction banking positions across product management, sales and solutions development. Before joining Standard Chartered in 2013, Reuter worked with Deutsche Bank in Germany and Switzerland.
