Deutsche Bank has appointed Manik Chhabra as head of global corporate coverage for India and Sri Lanka, effective August 19.
Chhabra joins Deutsche Bank from Citibank where he held several leadership roles in corporate banking in a career spanning over 22 years, most recently as India head for mid corporates.
He has a deep knowledge and experience in corporate banking, with a well-established industry network and strong client relationships.
Deutsche Bank considers India as a key market, presenting growth opportunities across its target local and multinational corporate clients. With Chhabra’s leadership and strong client connectivity, the bank believes it is well-positioned to drive accelerated growth in India.
In his new role, Chhabra will report to Chintan Shah, head of corporate coverage, Asia-Pacific, and head of cash management sales, APAC, functionally, and to Kaushik Shaparia, chief executive officer of emerging Asia and chief country officer of India, locally. He will also join the management board of Deutsche Bank’s India branch.
