Swiss private bank Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has appointed Teresa Lee as its region head for North Asia and CEO Hong Kong.

She joins UBP, the bank says, with an exemplary record in the Asia wealth management industry. At the Bank of Singapore, she significantly expanded the business as its head of Greater China and later as its vice-chair of Greater China. Her distinguished career also includes roles as head of relationship management for China at Standard Chartered and team head at ABN Amro Private Bank.

Renowned for her talent in attracting and mentoring top professionals, Lee, the bank adds, has actively supported Hong Kong’s wealth management sector, notably as the former chair of the wealth management sub-committee at the Family Office Association of Hong Kong. She also chaired The Women’s Network at her previous bank with a variety of initiatives to build a diverse workplace and foster a positive work culture with lasting impact on the community.

“Lee’s appointment aligns with our ambitious plans to accelerate business development in North Asia and reaffirms our confidence in Hong Kong as a leading global wealth management hub,” states Michael Blake, the bank’s CEO for Asia. “Lee’s strategic insights, client connectivity and extensive experience in different market environments make her ideally suited to lead the next phase of UBP’s growth in the region.”
