US-based asset manager Nuveen has appointed Saira Malik as the head of its equities and fixed-income platform, taking over from William Huffman who served in the role prior to his appointment as CEO in June 2024.
Malik will also continue to serve as the firm’s chief investment officer and chair of its global investment committee, driving market and investment insights and delivering client asset allocation views from across the firm’s independent investment teams.
“As a proven leader who has dedicated two decades of her career to the evolution and growth of Nuveen’s platform, Malik is ideally suited to take on leadership of the equities and fixed-income business,” Huffman says. “In this expanded role, Malik will work closely with the talented leaders and teams who oversee more than US$1 trillion in AUM [assets under management] across equities, global fixed income, munis [municipal bonds], private placements, multi-asset strategies and C-PACE [commercial property assessed clean energy] lending.”
