BNP Paribas names Asia-Pacific client lines head
Elaine Tan has considerable experience, strong record of creating innovative solutions
The Asset 8 Jul 2024

BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Elaine Tan as its head of asset owners and asset managers client lines for Asia-Pacific, succeeding Philippe Tassin who has recently been appointed as head of asset owners and asset managers client lines for Europe, Middle East and Africa, effective August 1.

In her new role, Tan, based in Singapore, will pursue the development of securities services’ asset owners and asset managers franchise across the Asia-Pacific region. This will involve maintaining and executing the business line’s regional strategy for buy-side clients, structuring deals, and developing the product offering to support the bank’s selective growth and ambitions in Asia-Pacific.

Tan has over 20 years of experience in the securities services industry and is armed with a wealth of valuable knowledge across the fund administration and accounting space. She joined BNP Paribas in 2007 and was instrumental in establishing the securities services business in Singapore. Since then, she has taken on senior roles within the business, including its client delivery and client lines departments, and has supported clients’ sustainability and data transformation initiatives.

Tan was recently head of fund services products and solutions for Asia-Pacific, a role which she has held since 2019. She is armed with specialist knowledge of market trends, latest technologies, as well as Asia’s regulatory landscape.

Tan will report locally to Franck Dubois, head of Asia-Pacific for securities services, and globally to Arnaud Claudon, the global head of asset owners and asset managers client lines for securities services. She will become a member of the executive committee of securities services for Asia-Pacific.

“Asia is a key growth area for our global franchise,” Claudon says, “and Tan’s appointment will help ensure that we continue to deliver highly effective support to our clients in the region.”

Dubois adds: “Tan’s considerable experience and strong track record of creating innovative solutions to meet our clients’ needs will be instrumental in the realization of our growth ambitions in Asia-Pacific.”
