Hong Kong-based independent investment firm Chartwell Capital has hired emerging market investor Mark Mobius as a non-executive, independent adviser – a move that, the company says, comes at an opportune time, given the current undervaluation of many Hong Kong stocks, an area in which it specializes.
With close to four decades of experience investing in emerging markets, Mobius will offer invaluable insights to Chartwell Capital that are set to bolster the company’s investment strategies and corporate stewardship.
There is synergy between Mobius and Chartwell Capital, the company points out, as both share a commitment to active management and a focus on identifying undervalued opportunities beyond traditional indices and large-cap stocks, delving into sectors and companies that are often overlooked.
“Mobius’ investment expertise and global business connections are invaluable assets to us,” notes Ronald Chan, the firm’s founder and chief investment officer. “His involvement as a strategic adviser will greatly enhance our reach and take the company to new heights.”
