BlackRock has appointed James Raby as its head of wealth for the Asia-Pacific region, a role in which he will channel his knowledge, expertise and connectivity into serving clients.

He has worked at the firm for more than 15 years in leadership roles across strategy, corporate development, finance and internal auditing in London, San Francisco, New York and Hong Kong,

Raby most recently served as Asia-Pacific chief financial officer, based in Hong Kong, where he oversees finance, corporate strategy and corporate development initiatives across the region.

He worked closely with BlackRock’s Asia-Pacific business throughout his time at the firm, particularly in his capacity as a member of the global strategy team and as global head of financial planning and analysis.

His service with the firm dates back to 2005, when he was a director of strategy for Barclays and later a principal at BGI, which BlackRock acquired in 2008.
