Enterprise software provider VMware has appointed Barry Chen as its vice-president and general manager for Greater China, a role in which he will lead the firm’s business development across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Chen is a VMware veteran, having spent more than 10 years with the company as the general manager of VMware Taiwan. A professional IT leader for over 25 years, he has extensive IT industry experience in both the enterprise and consumer markets.
Prior to joining VMware, Chen served multiple years at leading network and software companies in various senior leadership roles across East and Central China, Taiwan and Korea. And he has held additional positions that include vice-chairman of the Taiwan Linux Consortium and is currently the director of the Cloud Computing and IoT Association in Taiwan.
