SMBC Aviation Capital delivers latest A320neo to Spirit Airlines
Delivery is part of 14-aircraft sale and leaseback deal with US low-cost carrier

SMBC Aviation Capital has delivered the latest in a series of Airbus A320neo planes to Florida-based low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines.

This is the 11th aircraft delivered to Spirit as part of a sale and leaseback transaction, consisting of 14 aircraft, from November 2021 to September 2022.

The aircraft, equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines, were delivered while located at the Airbus delivery centre in Mobile, Alabama.

Spirit Airlines is the leading ultra-low-cost carrier in the United States, Caribbean and Latin America.

Also in September, SMBC delivered one Airbus A321neo aircraft to Aegean Airlines and one Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft to flydubai.

SMBC Aviation Capital’s shareholders are Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and Sumitomo Corporation.
