Broadridge Financial Solutions has appointed Tyler Derr as chief technology officer, effective July 1.

He will be responsible for overseeing the fintech firm’s global technology teams, including enterprise-wide software engineering, product delivery, architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology operations.

In his new role, Derr reports directly to chief executive officer Tim Gokey.

Derr succeeds John Hogan, who had served as CTO since 2014. In his new role, Hogan will advise Gokey and Derr. He will also continue in his firm-wide roles in risk and capital, and oversee Broadridge’s India operations, reporting to Gokey.

Derr has been with Broadridge for 10 years as CTO and later chief administrative officer for its global technology and operations business. Prior to joining Broadridge, Derr worked at Oppenheimer as the CTO for the global tax business of H&R Block, and in private equity.
