HKEX names chief people officer
Kerry Rooks will be responsible for the group’s human resources function

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) has appointed Kerry Rooks as its chief people officer, effective January 10. She will be responsible for the group’s human resources function, leading a team of HR professionals in Hong Kong, mainland China and internationally.

Rooks (pictured) will report to chief executive officer Nicolas Aguzin. She will also become a member of the group’s management committee.

She succeeds Paul Choi, group head of human resources, who plans to pursue other career interests outside of the group. Choi will remain with HKEX as an adviser until March 31 2022.

Rooks joins HKEX from Prudential, Hong Kong, where she was chief human resources officer. Prior to this, she worked in various HR roles for New York Life International - Asia, based out of Hong Kong; AIG in both New York and Hong Kong; and Prudential Life Insurance in Tokyo.

Rooks holds a bachelor of laws and bachelor of arts from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
