AMP Capital has announced three new appointments to the Community Infrastructure Fund (CommIF): Odette Linnett as investment director, Carolyn van Leuven as senior adviser, and Mathew Pirotta as associate.

CommIF invests in high-yield, brownfield, social infrastructure PPP assets in Australia and New Zealand in sectors such as education, health, justice, water, transport, community housing and recreational facilities. The fund now has 18 assets worth more than A$5.8 billion (US$4.27 billion) on a pro-rata ownership basis.

In her new role, Linnett will take on asset management responsibilities for a number of CommIF assets including Victorian Schools, Darwin Convention Centre and NSW Schools II. She will be based in Sydney.

Linnett started her career at the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance and has more than 13 years of corporate finance experience. She was an investments director at Deloitte Asia Pacific before joining CommIF.

Van Leuven will be appointed to two of CommIF’s New Zealand boards. She is an experienced senior executive and board director/trustee, a former major commercial law firm partner and has previously been a deputy chief executive for the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Corrections in New Zealand.

Van Leuven will join the boards of Auckland South Corrections Facility and New Zealand Hospital Car Parks. Her experience in justice and in working with and for Māori will bring additional depth and a strong client focus across our growing portfolio of justice assets. These include Auckland South Corrections Facility, Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison, and our recently acquired Hopkins Correctional Centre.

Pirotta has been with AMP Capital for more than six years, most recently in finance team, and brings extensive experience in providing financial and commercial analysis to decision makers. He has spent the majority of his career working on infrastructure and real estate within the funds management industry.
