Value Partners Group has appointed Winnie Lam as managing director, chief operating officer’s office, effective July 15. Lam is responsible for managing the group’s overall operations and back-office functions. She reports directly to the group’s co-chairmen and co-chief investment officers Dato’ Seri Cheah Cheng Hye and Louis So.
Lam has more than 30 years of experience in the fund management and financial services industry. She spent 14 years as head of operations, Asia, at First Sentier Investors (formerly known as First State Investments), based in Hong Kong. Before that, LAM held various senior positions in fund management companies, investment banks and financial services firms, including Lloyd George Management, J.P. Morgan Securities and American Express.
Lam graduated from the University of South Australia with a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from City University of Hong Kong. She is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Value Partners has also appointed Nikita Ng as finance director, effective July 5. Ng is responsible for leading the finance functions of the group. She has broad experience in the industry, particularly in financial reporting, internal control assessment and corporate transactions, combined with strong regulatory knowledge. She was most recently a financial controller at Fortress Investment Group & Mount Kellett Capital, a multi-strategy investment firm.
Chief financial officer and chief administrative officer Icy Wong will be departing the group in early August to pursue other opportunities. Wong’s responsibilities will be taken up by both Lam and Ng.
