HSBC executive wins Custodian Banker of the Year for Indonesia

Lilian Halim, head of HSBC Securities Services (HSS), PT Bank HSBC Indonesia, is honoured as “Custodian Banker of the Year” in The Asset Triple A Asset Servicing Awards 2021, for leading the bank and helping the local asset servicing industry through the challenges brought on by Covid-19.

Apart from growing HSS Indonesia’s business in the midst of a challenging market environment, Halim was active in market advocacy, collaborating with various industry stakeholders to push digitization as a means of enhancing market efficiency through the pandemic.

Halim became head of HSS Indonesia in November 2017 after serving as acting head from June 2016 to October 2017, as head of Client Services, Sub-Custody and Clearing from February 2012 to June 2016, and as vice-president of Operations, Sub-Custody and Clearing from August 2010 to January 2012.

In 2021, HSS Indonesia won the Best Subcustodian (Indonesia) and Best Fund Administrator, Retail Funds (Indonesia) awards. HSS Indonesia also won Best Fund Administrator, Retail Funds (Indonesia) in 2020, 2019, 2018, and 2017. It won Best Subcustodian (Indonesia) in 2020, 2014, and 2013.
