Citi names new Asia-Pacific client executive head
David Brown has 30 years of experience in the custody and fund administration business
The Asset 15 Mar 2021

Citi has appointed David Brown as Asia-Pacific head of client executive and account management for custody and fund services, reporting to Irimga McKay, global head of client executives and account management for custody and fund services, and David Russell, Asia-Pacific head of securities services and Hong Kong head of markets.

Brown, who will be based in Hong Kong, joined Citi Australia in 2020 as the Australia head of client executive and account management. Prior to joining Citi, Brown spent 23 years at JPMorgan and two years at the Royal Bank of Canada where he held senior positions in sales, operations, relationship management and client service.

“[Brown] has over 30 years of experience across multiple functions within the custody and fund administration business,” Russell says. “His appointment is another example of our continued focus and investment in our securities services business which remains a core priority for Citi.”

Citi recently announced multiple custody milestones in the Asia-Pacific region, including completing a client transfer agreement in Australia, and being the first US bank to receive a domestic fund custody approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
