Shahmir Khaliq
Citi has appointed Shahmir Khaliq as its new global head for treasury and trade solutions business in its institutional clients group (ICG), replacing Naveed Sultan who was named chairman of Citi’s ICG business in October 2020.
Prior to taking this role, Khaliq was the global head of direct custody and clearing within markets and securities services since 2017. During his career at Citi, he has held leadership roles within banking, country management, markets, and securities and treasury services.
Khaliq is a senior credit officer and has degrees in finance and economics from the London Business School (MSc) and London School of Economics, in addition to an MBA from the University of Karachi.
