Vontobel appoints head of fixed income boutique

Vontobel Asset Management has appointed Simon Lue-Fong as head of the fixed income boutique and member of the asset management executive committee from October 1 2020, in a move to strengthen the firm’s investment expertise across its fixed income capabilities.

Lue-Fong has almost 30 years’ experience as a fixed income investor. Prior to this, he was responsible for Pictet’s emerging markets fixed income franchise, which he developed from less than US$1 billion to a US$32 billion business over 13 years. In his previous portfolio management roles, he covered global, credit and emerging markets fixed income.

Vontobel’s fixed income business was founded more than 30 years ago and has grown to over 50 investment professionals based in London, Zurich, New York, and Hong Kong. The business comprises of TwentyFour Asset Management, based in London, and Fixed Income Boutique, based in Zürich. It has US$45 billion of client assets under management.
