China’s new street vending economy
The country, which has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, is now seeking new drivers of economic growth

CHINESE regulators are trying to boost consumption and ease unemployment caused by Covid-19, and to that end the idea of a “street vending economy” was recently raised. The street vending theme, which includes sectors such as petty commodity, food and beverage, and outdoor equipment, is favoured by Chinese investors.
