BNY Mellon appoints new EMEA strategist
Geoff Yu was UK chief investment officer at UBS

BNY Mellon has named Geoff Yu as its new primary market strategist for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with the task of providing clients with insight and analysis into market developments.

Yu, a fluent Mandarin speaker, is an experienced media commentator and is expected to be a frequent guest on financial news outlets and a regular contributor to BNY Mellon’s daily Aerial View market commentary series.

He joins BNY Mellon from UBS Wealth Management, where he most recently served as UK chief investment officer, managing a team that specialized in UK-focused research.

Prior to this, he served as the head of foreign exchange strategy for UBS, in addition to a number of other positions in London, Zurich and Singapore during his 14 years with the firm.

Based in London, he will report to Daniel Tenengauzer, head of markets strategy.
