STASHAWAY announced June 2 that the former regional chief operating officer (COO) of Morgan Stanley Asia Private Wealth Management, Sim Hwee Hoon, has joined its board of directors as an independent non-executive director. She has more than a decade of experience as a managing director in c-suite positions at major US banks, and transitioned from a member of the company’s advisory committee.

Sim was formerly the CEO of Morgan Stanley Asia International Limited, Singapore branch, where she also sat on the board of directors. She was also the regional chief operating officer of Private Wealth Management Asia in Morgan Stanley from 2010 to 2016 and is currently a board member of NTUC Income.

Michele Ferrario, StashAway co-founder and CEO, says: “Hwee Hoon has been very supportive during her tenure as our advisor. She has provided a valuable perspective that has helped us deliver and scale our business strategy and build deeper relationships with our clients. We look forward to continuing working alongside her to realize our mission to empower our customers to build long-term wealth.”
