Asset manager Capital Group, which has assets under management of US$2.6 trillion, has appointed Belinda Gan as ESG investment director, Europe and Asia client group, reporting to Alexandra Haggard, head of product and investment services for Europe and Asia.
Based in London, Gan will partner with Capital’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) team to lead the ESG client servicing offering. Her responsibilities include working with clients, consultants, other intermediaries and Capital associates to inform and educate on its approach to ESG and investment philosophy across the company’s range of strategies.
Gan has more than 17 years of industry experience, with a strong focus on climate change and ESG during the past eight years. She most recently served as an investment director of global sustainability at Schroders UK and as a member of the Investment Association’s Sustainability and Responsible Investment Committee. She began her career at Goldman Sachs Australia.

In 2021, Capital was accepted by the Financial Reporting Council as a signatory to the UK Stewardship Code and joined the UN Global Compact Initiative, and it is a signatory to the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosures and the Principles for Responsible Investment reporting framework.
