Uber appoints new leadership for North Asia
Susan Anderson will lead company's businesses across North Asia as well her existing portfolio of Australia and New Zealand
The Asset 17 Oct 2019

Susan Anderson will take on an expanding leadership role to include Uber’s rides businesses across North Asia, adding to her existing portfolio of Australia and New Zealand. As regional general manager, ANZ and North Asia, Anderson will now be responsible for serving riders and drivers and driving further growth in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

North Asia is a strategic priority and hub of innovation for Uber as the region embraces safe, reliable transportation options that incorporate technology. The company partners with cities on a range of products and services, and the region is at the forefront of our global push to bring taxis onto the platform with the help of world class technology.

Over the last two years Anderson has successfully grown Uber’s rides offering in Australia and New Zealand ensuring full regulatory compliance, a bench of diverse leaders, and a competitive advantage anchored to products tailored to the Australian market and an ambitious expansion to 51 new cities.

Prior to joining Uber, Anderson had operational and leadership roles at Bain & Company and Amazon.

“Australia and New Zealand have embraced ridesharing and Uber like few other countries. Both are a source of product innovation for Uber and are home to its most forward-looking technologies and partnerships, like Uber Elevate,” says Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty, vice president, International Rides. “Alongside her strong local teams, Susan will bring her experience, enthusiasm and expertise to North Asia and the many still untapped opportunities there.”
