Credit Suisse has appointed Erica Poon Werkun as head of equity research, Asia-Pacific. She will be responsible for enhancing Credit Suisse’s equity advisory offering in the region and delivering commercial investment ideas to clients.
She will also be responsible for driving content that can be leveraged across Credit Suisse’s integrated platform in the region and globally. The appointment is effective immediately.
With over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, Werkun spent 17 years in equity research and seven years in investment banking. She joins Credit Suisse from UBS, where she was a managing director and head of research for UBS Securities in China. She was previously head of Asian consumer and internet research at UBS.
Prior to that, she was at Goldman Sachs covering the consumer and technology sectors in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Before that, she worked in the investment banking division of the Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) Technology Group in Palo Alto and Hong Kong, as well as at SG Cowen in San Francisco and New York, where she focused on the telecom, media and technology (TMT) sector.
