Citi Hong Kong CEO moves to Hang Lung Group
Weber Lo to succeed Philip Chen Nan Look as CEO of Hang Lung Group and Hang Lung Properties
The Asset 16 Mar 2018

WEBER Lo, currently the Citi country officer and CEO for Hong Kong and Macau, has become the latest high profile banker in the territory to get out of the industry and move into the corporate world.

In an announcement made on March 16, Hang Lung Group and Hang Lung Properties said they have appointed Lo as CEO designate of both companies effective May 16 2018. The current CEO Philip Chen Nan Look will retire on July 16 2018 and will be appointed as adviser to the chairman and re-designated as a non-executive director of Hang Lung Properties. With effect from July 16, Lo will succeed Chen as the CEO of both companies.

As Citi country officer and CEO for Hong Kong and Macau, Lo is the highest ranking officer in the Hong Kong franchise for the global bank – a role which he has assumed since January 2013. He oversees all businesses across the Citi franchise in the two markets, serving the institutional clients group and global consumer banking. He is a member of the Citi Asia-Pacific operating committee and also the chairman of Citibank (China) Company.

Lo has held various senior management roles within the bank since joining in 2000, becoming the chief operating officer in 2004, while serving concurrently as the director of retail banking. He served as country business manager for Citibank global consumer banking in Hong Kong and Macau from October 2007 to December 2012.

Before joining Citi, Lo had held senior leadership roles in Coca-Cola China, and Procter and Gamble (Hong Kong).
