The Asset Events kicks off its Asia Bond Markets Summit – European Edition in London today highlighting the potential for further two-way investment between Asia and Europe.
Investment mandates are no longer a one-way street. Sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurers and asset managers are searching for opportunities beyond home markets. As a result, Europe is now in the spotlight.
As global fund managers look to grow their fund offerings in the continent, several Asian fund managers are poised to launch funds into Europe via wrappers such as the Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) to appeal to European investors eyeing returns and diversification.
The summit will cover a number of important and interesting topics ranging from the capital markets rationale of issuers and investors to Asia’s role in driving green and sustainable assets within capital markets. Some of the key speakers at the event include Datuk Chung Chee Leong, president and chief executive officer at Cagamas; Isabelle Laurent, deputy treasurer and head of funding at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; Tony Chao, head of greater China securities services at Deutsche Bank; and Giulia Pellegrini, head of emerging markets debt ESG at BlackRock.
