London-listed bank Standard Chartered announced that its co-head of financing and securities services, Margret Harwood-Jones, has been elected to the board of directors of the International Securities Services Association (ISSA).

ISSA, a Zurich-based, non-profit international association of securities services providers, disseminates information on developments in the securities markets and offers securities operations professionals a forum to exchange ideas and issues of interest.

Harwood-Jones has over three decades of experience in financial services, almost 20 years of which has been within the securities services industry. Her expertise spans across global sales management, relationship and service management, marketing, strategic development, and business unit leadership for global custody and corporate trustee activities.

“One of Standard Chartered’s strengths, which is also a unique addition to ISSA, is the presence of its securities services business across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, where we are seeing rapid transformation and opportunities,” says Lee Waite, ISSA chairman. “[Harwood-Jones] is a seasoned and highly regarded expert in the industry, and we are excited to have her on our board to help drive ISSA’s mission, especially in the emerging and frontier markets.”
