Standard Chartered appoints global head of commercial real estate
Steven Cranwell to be responsible for bank’s commercial real estate segment and be a member of the global banking management team

STANDARD Chartered Bank has appointed Steven Cranwell as global head, commercial real estate. Based in Singapore and reporting to Paul Skelton, global head, global banking, Cranwell will be responsible for the bank’s commercial real estate segment and be a member of the global banking management team.

Steven has over 25 years of corporate and institutional banking experience including project finance, asset finance, structured trade and advisory. Most recently he was head of commercial banking for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey at HSBC. Prior to that, Steven held various senior leadership positions at National Australia Bank including Hong Kong CEO and head of the bank’s institutional and corporate finance business for Asia.

Paul Skelton, global head, global banking, Standard Chartered, says: “Our commercial real estate business is a key part of our corporate and institutional banking strategy and where our clients recognise our expertise and relevance. I am confident that with Steven’s extensive experience and leadership we will be able to make further strong progress.”

Cranwell’s appointment is effective end February 2018, subject to regulatory approval.
