ICBC International has lost a stalwart in its debt capital markets (DCM) team following the departure of Jason Ho. He was co-head of the DCM team in Hong Kong, alongside Xiao Yuan, who is said to have taken another role within the bank. Ho was also head of debt syndicate at the Chinese investment bank.

Ho joined ICBC in July 2011 as head of China debt syndicate and co-head of China DCM. He was appointed executive director and co-head of the DCM team in July 2014, leading a department of 20 in four teams, including origination, execution, ratings advisory and syndicate.

ICBC was involved in executing several significant bond transactions in 2016, such as the first Chinese securities company to issue a euro-denominated bond for Haitong Securities amounting to 120 million euros, and in the largest offshore senior bond issuance by a Chinese private insurance company for Sunshine Life Insurance Company amounting to US$1.5 billion, where it acted as a global coordinator.

ICBC was also a global coordinator in the largest US dollar bond out of Asia so far in 2017 – a four-tranche offering totalling US$5 billion for the State Grid Corporation of China.

The bank has been the recipient of The Asset Triple A Awards for Best bond house (domestic) in China in 2015 and 2016, and the Best renminbi bond house in 2015.

Before moving to ICBC, Ho was with Citi for more than four years, working in corporate finance and equity capital markets origination.
