PowerChina signs agreement to renovate Rivne Airport in Ukraine
Regional administration plans to turn airport into an international hub by modernizing its cargo infrastructure

The Rivne regional administration in Ukraine has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) on the reconstruction of Rivne International Airport in northwest Ukraine, the regional administration has reported on its official website.

The website said that there is an opportunity to turn the airport into an international hub by modernizing the cargo transportation infrastructure. Rivne is in western Ukraine

"Our company attaches great importance to the Ukrainian market,” Chen Shijun, deputy general director of PowerChina for Eurasian market development, told Xinhua. “Currently, we are implementing seven contracts in Ukraine, mainly contracts in the field of infrastructure and energy.”

State-owned PowerChina is engaged in the construction of a large number of power plants, hydraulic structures, railways and roads, airports, and urban infrastructure.
