BNP Paribas Greater China Equity Syariah USD fund launches
The fund is the first of its kind in the market that offers Indonesian investors exposure to Chinese equities
The Asset 21 Jan 2020

PT. BNP Paribas Asset Management (PT. BNPP AM) announced January 15 the launch of BNP Paribas Greater China Equity Syariah USD, its second shariah-compliant offshore equity fund. The fund is the first of its kind in the market that offers Indonesian investors exposure to Chinese equities.

The addition of BNP Paribas Greater China Equity Syariah Fund USD makes PT. BNPP AM the first asset management company in Indonesia to provide local investors with access to the one of the world’s fastest growing economies, hence meeting the growing demand for Chinese equities.

The fund promotes the shared values between shariah principles and responsible investment aimed at providing sustainable long-term returns for investors. Integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria into the stock selection process, the fund favours companies that demonstrate superior social and environmental responsibility, thus minimizing the risk of investing in companies that may be involved in controversies due to poor corporate governance practices.

BNP Paribas Greater China Equity Syariah USD is PT. BNPP AM’s second offshore fund and third Sustainable Responsible Investment (SRI) themed fund. As sustainable investing continues to gain traction globally and regionally, the firm aims to promote sustainable investing to Indonesian investors.
