Schroders appoints head of multi-asset product, Southeast Asia
Reginald Tan to focus on supporting the growth of Schroders’ multi-asset business
The Asset 16 Jan 2018

SCHRODERS has made the senior appointment of Reginald Tan as head of multi-asset product, Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, Tan will focus on supporting the growth of Schroders’ multi-asset business in Southeast Asia, and delivering world-class outcome-based solutions to clients in the region.

Tan joins Schroders in January 2018 and reports to Garth Taljard, head of multi-asset management. Reginald’s responsibilities include delivering quality solutions to clients in Southeast Asia across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei markets, working with both institutional and intermediary clients. The Southeast Asia product team is an integral part of the global multi-asset product team and will collaborate closely with the portfolio management teams, to deliver the best of Schroders’ global multi-asset capability with solutions tailored to client needs.

Tan joins Schroders from Amundi Singapore Ltd, where he was director, head of multi-asset strategies for South Asia. He brings with him over 25 years of experience in investment management, including roles at First State Investments, Mercury Asset Management, Koeneman Capital Management and Barclays Global Investors, and has worked in Asia and the US. He holds a bachelor of science in economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Taljard, head of multi-asset management, says: “We continue to see strong demand from investors across Southeast Asia for multi-asset solutions that cater to their unique needs. With valuations looking increasingly stretched going into the new year, coupled with uncertainty around the sustainability of market rallies, investors are looking for quality asset allocation and risk management capabilities to generate strong sustainable returns. Reginald brings with him a wealth of expertise and experience, which will allow us to continue delivering high-quality solutions and client service capabilities across Asia.”
