DBS Hong Kong names institutional banking deputy head
Wallace Lam has 26 years’ experience in senior management roles at HSBC

DBS Bank (Hong Kong) has appointed Wallace Lam as its managing director and deputy head of its institutional banking group, with responsibility for managing and growing the bank’s franchise in the large corporate and mid-cap businesses in Hong Kong and overseeing the strategic advisory and syndicated finance business.  

Before joining DBS Hong Kong, Lam was at HSBC where he was the head of corporate, commercial banking, Hong Kong. With over 26 years of experience with HSBC, Lam has held various senior management positions, including head of high-yield capital markets for Asia-Pacific, head of client coverage for commercial banking in China and co-head of global banking in Hong Kong. 

“With Lam’s extensive background and product expertise, he shall further expand our franchise and grow our corporate and commercial banking business, bringing innovative and digital experience to our corporate customers,” says Alex Cheung, managing director and head of institutional banking group, DBS Hong Kong. “He will also take a lead in expanding our regional connectivity and enhancing the bank’s strategic capabilities.”
