DWS Group has appointed Vanessa Wang as head of client coverage for Asia-Pacific, effective September 1. Wang, who joins from Amundi, will lead all coverage teams of the firm across the region, providing investment solutions to institutional and wholesale clients and partners. Based in Hong Kong, she will report to Dirk Goergen, Frankfurt-based head of the client coverage division and member of the executive board.
Wang has more than 20 years of financial sector experience, starting her career at Mercer where she spent 15 years advising and working on retirement issues before leading the business division itself as partner and Asia head of the retirement, risk and finance. She later joined Citigroup as a managing director and Asia-Pacific head of pensions.
More recently, she had been with Amundi since 2016, working in two positions: senior managing director and head of institutional business in the United States, and head of institutional business in North Asia. Wang was also a member of Amundi’s executive committee.
Wang has also been an active contributor in the ESG space, having previously served as a member of ESG and retirement income workstream of Asia-Pacific Financial Forum under the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.
