STOXX, a leading provider of innovative, tradable and global index concepts, has expansion its presence in Asia-Pacific with the opening of a new office in Sydney.
Jonathan Morgan has been appointed STOXX regional director and will head the new Sydney office, with responsibility for STOXX operations in Australia and New Zealand. With more than 15 years of experience in the Australian financial industry, he joins STOXX from S&P Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI), where he was responsible for channel management across all client groups. Before joining SPDJI, Morgan held various positions at the Australian Securities Exchange. In his new role, he will report to Shirley Low, head of Asia-Pacific for STOXX.
“Australia and New Zealand are markets of great importance to our growth strategy. The Sydney office brings us closer to our local clients in these markets and will help us service them more effectively,” said Hartmut Graf, chief executive officer, STOXX. “With a product offering spanning the best-known and most widely-used indices for Europe, as well as an innovative suite of global smart-beta indices, STOXX is well positioned to offer market participants in Australia and New Zealand a superior choice of index concepts. Jonathan’s experience and networks will be valuable in driving our business forward in Australasia.”
