BNP Paribas Investment Partners has appointed Sharad Sharma as the chief executive officer of BNP Paribas Mutual Fund with immediate effect. BNP Paribas Mutual Fund represents the asset management activities of BNP Paribas Investment Partners in India. Based in Mumbai, Sharma reports to Vincent Camerlynck, CEO Asia-Pacific, BNP Paribas Investment Partners.

 

Sharma has more than 30 years of extensive banking and financial services experience across liability and wealth management and corporate banking. He joined BNP Paribas in 1989 and has held key management positions including regional head for North and East India, and country head for wealth management in India. Most recently, he was seconded as executive director of Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services in 2012 and oversaw the operations of one of the leading retail financial services companies in the market.

 

Sharma holds a master's degree in financial management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai, and is a certified associate of Indian Institute of Bankers.
