BNP Paribas has named Peter Kwok as chief executive officer of BNP Paribas (China) with effect from December 11 2014.
Based in Shanghai, he will take charge of leading and managing the various business lines, client facing units and functions of BNP Paribas (China) in close coordination with BNP Paribas Group's regional teams. He will report to Paul Yang, the group's regional head for Greater China and chairman of BNP Paribas (China) and the board of directors.
Kwok joined BNP Paribas (China) as managing director in 2007. His latest position is deputy CEO and head of corporate banking.
Kwok is succeeding Clarence T'ao who will be appointed as head of emerging Asian Markets at BNP Paribas Wealth Management Asia-Pacific, focusing on capturing opportunities and developing business in the new Asian markets.
